Story outline:
Raju (Raj Kapoor) is a poor, benevolent vagrant who wins his bread by singing melodies. At some point, he sees a harmed man and causes him. Afterward, he is hijacked by a couple of crooks who mix-up him to be a covert police officer.It at that point turns out that the harmed man he aided is the pioneer (Sardar) of this posse. The Sardar takes great consideration of Raju and treats him with respect. Sardar's girl Kammo (Padmini) goes gaga for Raju.
Kammo and Sardar persuade Raju that they are great crooks who are ensuring that riches is similarly conveyed among individuals. On one of the lootings, Raju witnesses the homicide of a love bird couple.
He chooses to go to the police and leaves the posse. One of the scoundrels, Raka (Pran), executes the Sardar and assumes control over; he wishes to coercively marry Kammo. At the point when Raju advises all reality to the police, they choose to go up against and murder the desperados.
